Tektronix 2225 Oscilloscope
I’d had this Tek 2225 50MHz analog oscilloscope for years and only used it occasionally. It did not take long after recently powering-up the unit to realize it needed some attention. The traces jumped wildly with just a light tap on the vertical control knobs. Along with cleaning the associated potentiometers I adjusted in the negative supply rail. I also replaced the RIFA capacitors in the power supply section — they were original, and it was only a matter of time before they failed spectacularly (search “RIFA cap failure” to see fiery examples).
Overall, I was very pleased with the end result, and will use this scope on many future projects, including turning it into a TV. There’s nothing quite like analog!
